Does CoolSculpting Work on Belly Fat? Yes! Let us Explain:

Posted on by Dr. Stephan Finical to CoolSculpting

Is there anything more frustrating than heading off to the gym, working your tail off, and nothing happening? You’re there, counting calories, eating right, drinking your water, and yet that stubborn belly fat just doesn’t want to melt away. For many, belly fat is one of those annoyances that just doesn’t want to go away, and as the body’s metabolic rate slows, it becomes even more of a challenge to burn away that belly fat. Thankfully, you don’t have to do it alone.

Here at The Skin Center by CPS, we provide a service known as CoolSculpting. You may have heard about CoolSculpting in the past and wondered if does CoolSculpting work on belly fat. First, yes, it absolutely does! Let us explain.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

This is by far the most common question we receive. People whose interests have peaked may have heard about CoolSculpting on television programs, read it in magazines, or online. But often, these locations may say that it works, but they don’t go into detail explaining exactly how it works.

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, non-invasive fat reduction procedure. No anesthesia, no incisions, no needles. The science of CoolSculpting is as the name suggests, it cools the subcutaneous fat, (the jiggly fat directly under the skin) to the point that the fat cells are destroyed due to the cooling process. Once the fat cells have died off, the body will process and pass the dead tissue. CoolSculpting is ideally used to treat your belly, love handles, thighs, bottom, banana roll under your bottom, under the arms, under your chin, just about any other area. After you’ve completed your series of treatments, your body reflects a more svelte shape and appears more sculpted, thus CoolSculpting. As a reminder, there is a difference between coolsculpting vs cooltone

What to Expect From CoolSculpting Procedure

It can take several weeks, if not a few months, to realize the full results of a CoolSculpting procedure. It’s difficult to forecast exactly how long it will take as it is based on how much fat you need to treat, the size of the area, and your personal goals, plus the fact that everybody responds differently to the procedure. Multiple sessions are often required. After the first treatment and a review of the initial results, it will be easier to determine how many additional sessions will be required, should that prove necessary.

After treatment, the entire process may take some time. First, the destruction of the fat cells, then the body must process the dead cells. This doesn’t happen overnight. It is also important to point out that not all fat cells will die. Depending on the number of fat cells in a given area (and how large the cells have become with the stored fat), some fat cells might be blocked and/or protected. On average, one session may remove up to around 25 percent of the fat cells in the target area.

Based on how your body responds to the first session, we will also better understand whether you require additional sessions to achieve your desired results. CoolSculpting results often take months to achieve. If you have an important event planned in the future, perhaps a wedding, a reunion, or a personal goal, it’s a good idea to come in for a consultation as soon as possible. For example, if you are planning to be slim and trimmed for a wedding so you look great in those honeymoon photos, we highly recommend scheduling with us as far in advance as possible. Assessing your timeline is key to determining your success. As with anything transformative, you need to plan ahead. And when you start doing it late, the question of whether CoolSculpting Charlotte works on belly fat revolves around you again.

What to Understand About CoolSculpting

It is very important to point out that this is not a “weight loss” treatment. Instead, this is designed to target stubborn areas that might have a larger collection of fat cells and fat storage. You may need to adjust your diet and reduce your calorie intake to maintain the desired look.

If you do not adjust your diet and caloric intake, consuming more calories than your body burns per day, the overage will still be stored in your body as fat. Now, it won’t necessarily be stored in your belly, but it will likely go somewhere else where there are more fat cells. Sometimes the fat storage may shift from the belly to the thighs, butt, back, breasts, or other areas of the body. It’s difficult to know exactly where it might go until after it starts to show.
