A breast implant exchange is a surgical procedure designed to replace existing breast implants with new ones. It allows you to make alterations, such as changing the size of your implants, addressing any concerns, or opting for a different type of breast implant. It’s a pivotal step in your aesthetic journey.
At Charlotte Plastic Surgery, we’re dedicated to making your breast implant exchange a seamless and rewarding experience. Our board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in delivering exceptional results while prioritizing your plastic surgery safety and well-being.
One of the significant advantages of a breast implant exchange is the flexibility it offers. You can opt for larger or smaller implants, tailoring your new implants to match your unique body proportions, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals.
At Charlotte Plastic Surgery, we believe in the power of customization. Your beauty should reflect your individual preferences, and our surgeons are here to make that vision a reality. Your choice to go larger or smaller is just one more way we tailor your experience to you.
Rest assured, you won’t have to navigate this decision alone. Prior to a breast implant exchange Charlotte plastic surgeons will provide expert guidance, offering insights into how various sizes will impact your overall appearance. With their support, you’ll be empowered to make an informed choice that aligns with your unique aesthetic journey.
The decision to undergo a breast implant exchange begins with a personalized consultation. Our expert surgeons will work closely with you to understand your desires and concerns. During your consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to explore different options. You can consider breast enlargement to achieve a fuller bust, breast reduction to address any discomfort or inconveniences, or a breast lift (mastopexy) to rejuvenate and elevate the position of your breasts, all of which can be completed in conjunction with an implant exchange if desired.
The timing of a breast implant exchange largely depends on your individual circumstances and goals. It can be done at various points following your initial surgery, but it’s essential to consult with your surgeon to determine the ideal time for you.
Under the expert care of our surgical team, the breast implant exchange process is designed to be streamlined, efficient, and safe. Our aim is to make your experience as comfortable as possible while delivering the results you desire.
The cost of a breast implant exchange can vary based on factors such as the type of implant, the complexity of the procedure, and the surgeon’s fees. Our team will provide you with a comprehensive estimate during your consultation, allowing you to plan accordingly. We offer a wide range of payment options, including low to no interest finance options you can take advantage of.
Breast implant exchanges are typically recommended when there are issues with the current implants, or if you wish to make a change for aesthetic reasons. The need for an exchange can vary from person to person and is often determined by the condition of the implants and your individual preferences.
Your safety and well-being are paramount to us. Our surgeons follow stringent safety guidelines, ensuring that the breast implant exchange procedure is performed with the utmost care and precision.
It’s important to note that breast implant exchange for cosmetic reasons is usually not covered by insurance. However, in rare cases, if there are medical reasons for the exchange, insurance may offer coverage. We can help guide you through this process with our in-house insurance specialist.
During the exchange procedure, your surgeon will carefully remove your existing implants, address any concerns, and replace them with your new implants. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, ensuring your comfort throughout the procedure.
After the surgery, you’ll be provided with post-operative guidelines to follow, including details on caring for your incisions and managing any discomfort. The breast implant exchange recovery time is designed to be as smooth as possible, allowing you to return to your daily routine gradually. Typically, in an implant exchange procedure, the patient can expect to resume regular activity within 2-4 weeks.
Following your breast augmentation revision, you’ll be advised to take it easy for a specified period, avoiding strenuous activities. You’ll also have post-operative follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and ensure your healing correctly. These post-operative appointments usually fall on the day after surgery, at 1 week, sometimes 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year.
A breast implant exchange is not just about changing your physical appearance; it’s about boosting your self-esteem and self-assurance. Many of our patients report increased confidence and happiness after the procedure.
In addition to exchanging your implants, you may choose to incorporate a breast lift (mastopexy) into your procedure to achieve a rejuvenated and youthful breast appearance. Our surgeons can discuss the benefits of this option with you.
